San Francisco-Style Vietnamese American Garlic Noodles




Here's a recipe for San Francisco-style Vietnamese American garlic noodles:

Ingredients:

• 8 oz. thin noodles (such as vermicelli, rice noodles, or egg noodles)

• 4 tbsp. unsalted butter

• 6 cloves garlic, minced

• 2 tbsp. soy sauce

• 2 tbsp. oyster sauce

• 2 tbsp. sugar

• 2 tbsp. water

• 1 tsp. sesame oil

• 1/4 tsp. white pepper

• 4 green onions, thinly sliced

• Chopped cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

• Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

• In a large skillet or wok, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

• Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, water, sesame oil, and white pepper to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

• Add the noodles to the skillet and toss until they are well coated with the sauce.

• Garnish with green onions and cilantro, if using. Serve hot.
